In June of l992, since we our country-western fans, we put together a four day trip to Nashville, Tennessee. We arrived in Nashville in late afternoon and were delighted with our room at the Opryland Hotel. The hotel was like staying in a greenhouse with lights, waterfalls and beautiful plants everywhere.
We had tickets to see the Grand Old Opry on Friday and Saturday nights and we saw Roy Acuff and many other famous stars on stage. We also took a riverboat cruise on the General Jackson and was surprised to find that Shotgun Red was our entertainment for the evening. He even called me up on stage and I had my picture taken with him and received an autographed Shotgun Red doll for being such a good sport!
We enjoyed the Opryland Theme Park and had tickets to see Vince Gill in concert in the GO Outdoor Theater. It was not unusual to see other stars signing autographs and talking to their fans in the park.
This was a great trip!
